ISP Comparison
Well last week we spent the week calling around to see who offered the best service. Turns out that one of the best ISP's didn't have equipment in our local exchange that varied from what we already had.
They did mention however, that Telstra clear has different equipment in this exchange and that we could utilize their higher speed kit. So we called up Telstra and they ended up beating our current Slingshot plans and all the bells and whistles we have for a cheaper price and could almost guarentee a speed increase. So we signed up and it's been about a week with our new connection.
The first hiccup we stumbled upon was our old 3Com Wireless router / switch / adsl gadget wasn't compatible with Telstra. I tried everything but the same issue existed as soon as we switched the username in teh router to connect to Telstra the router would connect up, within two minutes it would reconnect the DSL line and try to re-sync. This happened constantly for about 5 days with the existing modem in place. As soon as the new DSL modem from Telstra arrived and I plugged it in easily set it up, voallah it all worked nicely. Now the internet is smoking fast even for out-of the city it really is faster and more reliable than what we expected!
Big thanks Telstra Clear!
